What Is Copywriting?
By admin | June 12, 2007
Here’s another interesting questions that many of you might be able to answer too. If you have any additional information please post your comments.
Question:
I signed up for freelancer.com and when it says Estimate Project Budget: (lets say 150). What exactly does that mean? Does it mean that’s the max the person is will to pay for the project over all or that’s the asking price from a freelancer? Is that out of their pocket or mine? Also, Copy writing.. what exactly is that, I have the gist of it, I’d just like your view on what it is.
Answer:
checked out http://freelancer.com and it’s just a portal website giving links to various freelance websites, can you tell me exactly which website you signed up for. When you sign up for any of these websites make sure that you sign up as a freelancer and not a buyer. Estimated project budget is for buyers who a placing jobs on these websites and normally this amount gives an indication to us freelancers as to how much the person is willing to pay to have this work carried out.
In relation to my definition of copywriting, there are a couple of things to note about this. Copywriting in its full sense is actually sales writing as in sales pages that you see on websites. This is normally the best paying work if you can get it but the criteria is quite high. Of course many buyers do confuse this topic and list their work as copywriting even if they are just looking to have some web content written. The best thing you can do is cases like this is to ask the buyer exactly what they are looking for and that will give you an indication as to what type of a price to bid.
Hope this helps
